(Analysis) Project Shiksha Sankalp: Mainstreaming Children with Special Needs
A project initiated by a Mumbai based non-profit outfit "ADAPT" in parallel to the international initiative by UNICEF, with an aim to identify children with disabilities and to bring them into the fold of education and into the mainstream.
In a country like India where there are millions of children with special educational needs, both disabled and able and even when there is no system in place to identify children with disability among the so-called normal children, the project is based on a model to map every possible child, especially the ones who are out of school, so that children with both visible and functional disability can be identified?
