NEVER GIVING UP IS THE SECRET OF SUCCESS

Fulfilling the childhood dream Haritha V Kumar, a women from Kerala and her fourth and last attempt has back the first place in the Civil Service Examination for the first time from the state since 1991. The delighted topper says " Never giving up was the secret behind her success".

Meet UPSC Topper Haritha V Kumar, 27 year old from Kerala went on to become the topper of the UPSC for 2012.

"After graduation I started my preparing for civil services, First time wrote and I couldn't qualify the mains, so didn't get any interview call but I was 18 marks shorten the interview. Then in second attempt and during my second attempt I was placed in 179 rank (CSE 2010), since I had not preferred IPS, I came straight to IRS. Then I had given third attempt and my rank slipped to 290 but I didn't loose the hope, and I thought that one more attempt left so I gave it."

Haritha V Kumar who is undergoing training as an Indian Revenue Service Official while talking to reporter from Faridabad said that "She yet to believe that she has actually done it". After a gap of 20 years Haritha brought the glory of getting first rank to Kerala and she wants to join the service in Kerala.

केरल की हरिता कुमार इस बार टापर रही हैं, २०११ बैच की प्रोबैशनर है! दूसरे नम्बर पर केरल की वी. श्री राम है, जबकी तीसरा रैंक मिला है रजस्थान के स्तुति चरण को!  इस साल जनरल कैटगरी के अलावा एस सी और एस टी वर्गों में भी महिलायें ही अव्वल रही हैं! परीक्षा के टाप 50 मे इस बार केरल से 8 लोग है, कुल 998 उम्मीदवारों में 753 पुरुष हैं और 245 महिलाएं रहीं! टाप 25 में 6 उम्मीदवार ऐसे है जिनका यूपीएससी का यह पहला अटेम्प्ट था, जिनमें 9 का दूसरा, 8  का तीसरा और एक एक का चौथा और छठा प्रयास था!
